INTA is a public institution specialized in aeronautic and aerospace research and development. The satellite tracking and data reception station is located in Maspalomas, and is provided with antennas and electronic systems for tracking and control of both space vehicles and their payloads. Likewise, it carries out the reception, processing and archiving of data and images acquired by Earth observation satellites belonging to different space agencies such as: ESA, NASA and JAXA, and bodies like EUMETSAT. It has an important role in tracking Spanish government communications satellites.
